One of the great challenges faced by the Reconstructionist Movement is to continue its growth. As the newest of the movements, its institutions are still growing in ways the other movements no longer do. This allows for much creative thought and new approaches to Jewish life. The Reconstructionists’ report on the role of the rabbi is a prime example of their innovative approaches and thinking.
Jewish Reconstructionist Federation
As an educational association and clearinghouse for Reconstructionist Judaism, the Jewish Reconstructionist Federation assists Reconstructionist congregations and havurot as well as individuals seeking to learn more about the movement. Educational offerings include the recently revised Reconstructionist Educator's Study Packet and a curriculum resource guide. The federation also develops and presents seminar programs on aspects of congregational development for leaders of affiliated congregations and havurot. The JRF’s publications catalog features music offerings, the book Exploring Judaism: A Reconstructionist Approach, and some key position papers on topics ranging from homosexuality and Judaism to the rabbi-congregation relationship. A key publication is the JRF quarterly, Reconstructionism Today, with a variety of articles that can be read online. Through the JRF Web site, one can locate by state congregations affiliated with the JRF. One can also read the most current news and bulletin board notices. Individuals and groups familiar with and new to Reconstructionist Judaism will find a wealth of information and guidance in this organization and its Web site.

Reconstructionist Rabbinical Association
The Reconstructionist Rabbinical Association, established in 1974, is the professional association of rabbis affiliated with the Reconstructionist Movement. Comprised primarily of graduates of the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College, the RRA also includes rabbis trained at other seminaries who have chosen to affiliate with Reconstructionism. The RRA sponsors an annual convention for its members, distributes a newsletter and other print resources, and in cooperation with the Jewish Reconstructionist Federation sponsors the Reconstructionist Placement Service, which assists rabbis and congregations with employment.
Reconstructionist Rabbinical College
The RRC has long championed a nontraditional approach to rabbinical education. The school combines aspects of traditional and academic study to create a personal encounter with the student. The student is thus equipped with a knowledge of Jewish sources, an experience of intense Jewish living, and the skills needed to recreate this experience for others.

Young Judaea
At nearly 90 years old, Young Judaea is the oldest Zionist youth movement in North America. While not a Reconstructionist organization (it is sponsored by Hadassah—see National Organizations), it is the organization with which Reconstructionist youth typically affiliate. Like its counterparts in the other movements, YJ organizes trips to Israel and hosts summer camps. Its particular emphasis is on peer leadership.
