Pat Washburn has worked as a Peace Educator for the National Peace Academy Campaign, the Earlham School of Religion, the Iliff School of Theology, and the American Friends Service Committee. She is the recipient of the Sisters of Loretto Mary Rhodes award for her nonviolence work, and the Martin Luther King award of the Estes Park Interfaith Clergy Coalition. She has served on the Board of the Fellowship of Reconciliation, and has traveled to a number of areas under conflictincluding the Middle East, Cuba, and Central America. She was on the board of the National Campaign for a Peace Tax and testified before congress on their behalf, sharing her own story. Pat spent seven years in dialogue with the Internal Revenue Service hoping to be recognized as a Conscientious Objector to Military Taxes. In the end, she lost her home and most of her possessions, but says "I have tried to be faithful to the injunction of the prophet Micah by Acting Justly, Loving Compassionately, and Walking Humbly with God." Currently she lives simply in Estes Park, does Conflict Resolution consulting for several judicatories, continues as an adjunct professor at Iliff, and is a part-time pastoral associate at St. Bartholomew's Parish. Bob Gribbon, previously an ecumenical campus minister, worked for The Alban Institute as a researcher and consultant from 1976 until 1987 when he was called to lead a congregation in Maryland. Ordained in the Episcopal Church, he earned a Doctor of Ministry in spirituality from Wesley Seminary in Washington in 1999. Now the Bishop's Assistant for Mission and Ministry Development in Delaware, Bob says, "teaching clergy and congregations to use conflict constructively is still a major part of my work."
