We will now look at some concrete ways of dealing with conflict in each of the three circles of action. International quarrels don't directly mirror playroom squabbles, but before we begin to discuss transpersonal conflicts, it helps to understand how we deal with conflict at the most personal level. In working with any group, it is useful to have participants use some tool or exercise to "get in touch with" their personal conflict management style.
If there is time, group members might use the Discover Your Conflict Management Style workbook from the Alban Institute. We will also present a quick non-verbal exercise, "Crossing the Line," that will enable participants to get an experiential "feel" for different personal responses to conflict.
