Part 2 — A Journal Exercise
Complete the following three steps:
  1. Identify three scripture texts you feel connect to each of the theological ideas (boxes) in the diagram. If you find yourself stumped, please discuss this with your leader.
  2. Articulate these beliefs as a first step toward more effectively relating them in the congregation. In a succinct and simple manner, develop Christian beliefs about money in your own words. While the material provided here can serve as a starting point, work in as much originality as you can. You may even wish to augment the diagram in some way.
  3. Develop and lead a teaching situation in your congregation, using Christian beliefs about money as you developed them.
Possible additional exercise: Hold a debriefing exercise with key lay leaders afterward. How might you embed these beliefs more deeply in the fabric of your congregational system?
